Learner Profile Posters:
At the start of each school year, the students create the Learner Profile posters to be displayed in the Art room all year.
Each class is assigned a Learner Profile that is part of their first Unit of Inquiry. After discussing what the Profile means and how you can see examples of that Profile being enacted, students design, draw and color their posters. Then, the class votes on the best poster. The winning poster is then laminated and hung up in the Art room all year. The other posters are also displayed in the Art room and around school but only for a few weeks.

Essential Agreements:
At the start of each year, every class discusses what they consider to be appropriate and inappropriate behavior in the Art room. I write down the answers and consolidate the list across the grade level. After printing out the student-generated Essential Agreement, each student in the grade level signs their name to the document, as a pledge that they will try to uphold the Essential Agreement all year long. The documents are then laminated and displayed in the art room as a reminder of art room expectations.
