High School: Grade 9-12

Grade 9: After studying the work of Braque, Gleizes, and Picasso and watching the BBC documentary Simon Schama's Power of Art: Picasso, students brought in objects from home and assembled their own still life. After choosing a color palette to work in they created an abstracted drawing of their still life using oil pastels.

Grade 9: After looking at the history of comic books and graphic novels, including Roy Lichtenstein and contemporary manga artists, and watching the PBS film American Masters: Andy Warhol-A Documentary Film, students wrote and created their own graphic novel.

Grade 11/12 Advanced Art: Using one point perspective, students created an ideal interior space, which was used as the springboard for a project on industrial design and advertising.
