Reflections

I have created numerous written Art Reflections for students, to enable them to think about their creative process and the decisions that they make along the way. This helps a budding Artist to grow and develop their own vision, allowing for learning and progression.

My Reflections are designed to be used by children whose mother tongue is not English and are easy to understand through the use of pictures.

Other Reflections include:
  • Clay-hand building techniques
  • Collage
  • Color Wheel
  • Color Mixing
  • Weaving
The following are various written Reflections that students have completed during and after an Art project.

Students in my year-long After School Activity, Animals Asia, wrote a Reflection after a school-wide event Hug-A-Bear Day that students produced and hosted. I created a Google Doc and uploaded it to our Animals Asia Google Classroom, enabling students to reflect in real time.

Two Stars and a Wish is a Reflection sheet that I use with my Lower Primary Students. After a discussion, they choose two things about their project that they are most proud of or satisfied with-those become the 'Stars'. The 'Wish' is something that they wish they could change in their project. This introduces students to reflecting thoughtfully on their work and the choices that they make while creating Art.
